“To convert the existing indoor swimming pool area into a grand refreshing space which befitted the Hotel.”

Inspired by Colonial and palatial buildings of Shimla and surroundings. Larger arched openings were created to bring in the beautiful Himalayan views and added fluted columns finished in Aaraish Plaster. The ceiling above the indoor swimming pool was opened up to create larger volume, to add chandeliers. The plain walls around the pool were enhanced with niches.

To achieve the feeling of warmth, the entire metal structure of the conservatory was cladded in teak wood. The chandeliers and the crystal wall lights were added for grandeur. The local lotus motif and the trellis formed the inspiration for the flooring around the pool and in conservatory executed in hand cut glass mosaics.

For the last 19 years this pool area is most used, enthralling many guests of the hotel.
