TRC is a complex of pharmaceutical research laboratories with a central core of supportive and ancillary facilities. It comprises almost all disciplines of pharmaceutical research with the requirement of the cleanest of clean areas (requiring Class 10,000 atmosphere) as well as the dirtiest areas (emitting obnoxious gases).

The design process on one hand minimized impact of external heat through adequate measures of insulating the buildings fabric and on the other it created an effective system of sealed evaporative cooling from the roof with designed inlets and outlets for the movement of air called Passive Downdraft Evaporative Cooling (PDEC). This was applied to the changing seasonal climatic conditions using scientific simulation techniques, to achieve a level of performance optimum for human comfort conditions.

The buildings surveyed for human comfort achieve summer temperatures stabilized between 28-32°C, 6 to 9 air changes even in a chemical laboratory, temperature fluctuations are 3-4°C over a 24 hour period, when outside fluctuations are 14-17°C and the humidity does not exceed 65-70% in summer. Its significant achievements include not only low energy consumption as well as CO2 emission per square meter of area but the fact that everyone takes in 100% fresh air and though designed for 150 occupants in 1997, it is able to provide human comfort to 600 users as of 2005.
